SERCZA
Function: The daughter of the god Usuda is the goddess of luck, prosperity and success, well-being. Often also called as Šťastena, Sreča, Striča, Dolia or simply Happiness. She is also one of the goddesses of soothsayers, judges in the Slavic tradition called Rožanice, and thus we can consider her also the goddess of fate.
Image: She is a beautiful girl with golden hair and an eternal smile, most often dressed in a beautiful golden dress.
Symbols: Spider, loom, spindle, spinning wheel and ball of thread. The day is Friday and the number is thirteen. Their sacred tree is the hazel.
Sacrifices: Bread, porridge, grain, milk, wool, threads, scarves, ribbons, linen, dishes, wine and honey. Children's cut hair was also offered to the judges.
Holidays: The biggest holiday for Šťastena, like the Usuda holiday, is November 24, but, like the Rosary, the whole spinning season is dedicated to her, which starts in mid-October and ends after Shrove Tuesday.
Note: On the Feast of Rosary, girls cook porridge, which they take outside the threshold of the house and call: "Sreča, Sreča, come to us to eat porridge." Also during this holiday, a sacrificial table, or trapeze, is set up for the judges. During the spinning period, songs were sung to them, as well as to the goddess Mokoša. At each birth, a table with food and drink was prepared for them. At the time of childbirth, a rooster was sacrificed to them.
